Edu Blogs Review

Edu Blogs is a website where educators can go to blog about their pedagogy and classrooms. It's a great way to read about what teachers are doing out there in schools, to pick up new ideas and get feedback on your own strategies.

It is a little hard to navigate as there doesn't seem to be any way to search for blogs from your area or blogs about things you are interested in. Although it gives a lovely map showing where its bloggers are from, you can't then click on those blogs.

It does however seem to be a great resource for classrooms as some teachers have allowed their students to set up their own blogs that are linked in to the classroom one. This allows students to present their ideas in a digi-savvy medium.

I'll definitely have a bit of a trawl through here when I'm looking for prac ideas.

Tree what?

A salient reminder of the dangers of taking web information at face value.

It also illustrated young students' inability to think critically about new literacies.

The comments on reduced funding and support are a frightening premonition into the fate of Australia's education system should standardised testing become even more prevalent.
